Reidars Manufacturing inc. is a multi task shop, our main business is supplying the commercial fishing fleet with fishing gear and other items associated with the outfitting of commercial fishing vessels, Tugboats and other vessels and businesses along our working waterfront.
Work at our shop includes: Complete Trawl gear from A to Z. This includes construction of the Trawl, Sweep, Bolshlines, Bridels, Trawldoors, Groundcables, and providing items like main wire, staywires, Paravanes, various Chainstoppers and sweeptoggels, Safety hooks, Turning hooks,Pelican hooks and more for other shops as well as our own use.
We also offer Scalloping customers completly assembled scallop gear, and associated supplies.
A college degree is not needed to work in this shop but some skill levels would come in handy in preforming any of the jobs associated with manufacturing any of the items above. Welding, use of cutting torch,mending nets,splicing rope and wire, drive forktrucks, know how to meshure accuratly, squeese links to make scallop gear, but, The most important requierment would be your status as legal worker, willingness to work with your hands, take direction, be honest and get along with coworkers. We will train promising prospects.

*** Part time is open for a general laborer, work assignments would include assembly of Scallop gear(Chainbags,Aprons,Diamonds,Sides)and other shop work including shop and warehouse maitainance.

Part time or full time openings for person with experience in Trawl building.( This position is currently filled but new people are always welcome to apply )

***Full time position open for experienced welder, fabricator, some machine work. Mig-Tig-Stick. Drug free is a must.

*** Despite ever mounting difficulties in our fishing industry, Reidars are always busy with fixing or manufacturing new gear.
Work in our shop is hard and and at times demanding, to find persons willing to work under sutch conditions are difficult. Most people does not know the first thing about fishing gear and has to be trained from square one. The starting pay for unskilled labor in this shop is generally from $ 10.00 to $ 12.00 per hour, higher pays are possible but depends on the persons retentions of skills his willingness and his conduct
Out of work fishermen generally makes just about as mutch money on unemployment as they would working ashore and therefore generally not interested in working for an houerly wage unless their benefits has been exhausted.
At Reidars there are opertunities for the right person that would work with us into the future and gradually work his way up the ladder and into the future. Sutch person or persons would become increasingly rewarded in pay and benefits.
